Onions: peeling, slicing and dicing
This is theboganbuddha way to chop an onion and nothing like how a professional chef does it. Never mind though because it still works great.
How to Peel, Slice, and Dice Onions
- Top and tail the onion
- Place the onion on one of its ends and cut in half, you should now be able to slice in the onion into half moons.
- Remove the skin from each half.
- Slice according to your desire or to the recipe: big Papa Bear slices, medium Mama Bear slices, thin Baby Bear slices or somewhere in between depending on the recipe.
- If you are going for the dice option then layer one to three slices (depending on thickness) and cut through them to create dice.
